CHICO, Calif-  Aly Henington and Jaclyn Bisordi each scored 11 points to lead Sonoma State to a narrow 65-63 victory over the Academy of Art on Saturday evening at the Coslet Classic in Chico.  The victory gives the Seawolves a 2-0 start to the season for the fourth consecutive year.

Following Saturday's games, both Henington and Bisordi were named to the All-Tournament team.

Despite an 0-2 record coming in to Saturday's contest, the Urban Knights proved they were no pushover.  Though the Seawolves would never trail in the first half, the Urban Knights never fell too far off the pace, trailing by just three (26-23) at the break.

Sonoma finally got some distance early in the second half when a 16-8 run pushed the lead to 11, which would be the largest of the night.  Still leading by 11 with 11:06 to go, the Seawolves went cold, and over the next four minutes, a 10-0 run made it just a one-point game at 48-47 with 7:23 remaining.

The Seawolves pushed the lead to six again, but starting at the 3:02 mark, the Urban Knights went on a 7-0 run to take their first lead of the night, 60-59 with 2:00 left.

Sonoma would be quick to re-capture the lead, when Kelsey Wagner made a layup with 1:48 left.  Leading by four, the Seawolves got another scare from AAU with 50 seconds left when Devin London sank a three-pointer to make it 64-63.

The Urban Knights had a chance to go ahead with 21 seconds left when Jessica Nolan came up with a steal.  However, this time London missed, and Taylor Vigil grabbed the rebound.

After Amrallina Rowland was fouled, she hit just the first of her two free throws, setting up one last chance for AAU to either tie or win the game, down two with seven seconds left.  However, a layup attempt from Lorrain Etchelle rimmed out and the Seawolves were able to escape Acker Gym with a victory.

Henington's 11 points came on 4-of-9 shooting from the field and 3-of-4 from long distance.  Bisordi came off the bench for 11, six of them on free throws.  Bisordi also had a team-high four assists.  Roxanne Rentschler paced the Seawolves with six rebounds and Aly Conway had two blocks.

Lorraine Etchell and Verity Peets paced the Urban Knights with 13 points.

Next up for the Seawolves is an early conference opener against Humboldt State, up in Arcata on Saturday, November 27th.
