GLENDALE, Ariz- The Sonoma State men's tennis team found themselves down 2-1 after doubles play, and then down again 4-3 in the match, but
Drexler Dy and
Taylor Bianco earned victories to give the Seawolves a 5-4 comeback win over Western New Mexico under the lights at the Paseo Raquet Center in Glendale, Ariz on Friday. Sonoma State improves to 2-0 on the season.
The only doubles victory came by way of a 8-5 win by
Aaron Hamilton and
Anthony Rollins, who defeated Kyle Lynch and Flavio Rueda in the No. 2 doubles match.
Connor Olson improved to 2-0 in singles competition this season, after knocking off Lynch (6-3, 6-4).
Quan Vu also remained perfect in 2010 after his opponent, Henning Thrien, retired due to injury.
With Dy and Bianco's victories to clinch the Seawolves' win, they also remained undefeated at 2-0.
Sonoma State will return to action today in Glendale, taking on Midwestern State of Texas at 3:30 p.m.
