Connor Olson and
Taylor Bianco forced a tiebreaker with some tough play at No. 1 doubles, but ultimately fell 9-8 (7-2) to sixth-ranked Hawaii Pacific's Dominic Mcluskey and Sebastian Bader before the Sea Warriors won the next four matches to eliminate 34th-ranked Sonoma State from the 2010 NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Championships on Thursday.
The duo of Olson and Bianco had the closest match of the day; however
Anthony Rollins and
Scott Gaynor fell in a close 8-6 match to HPU's No. 2 doubles team of Daniel Luedi and Anton Samuilau.
The Sea Warriors' Aleksandar Markov put the match away with the clinching 6-1, 6-0 decision over Bianco at the No. 2 singles position.
Sonoma State ends their season with a 7-11 record while Hawaii Pacific moves on to the next round of the national tournament with a 19-3 overall mark.
