GLENDALE, Ariz-
Scott Gaynor earned a singles victory on Sunday afternoon, but it would be the only point that 34th-ranked Sonoma State would steal off of 11th-ranked Hawaii Pacific as the Seawolves lost to the Sea Warriors, 8-1, on the final day in Glendale, Ariz. SSU falls to 0-7 on the season.
Gaynor, after falling in the first set, 6-2, rallied to win the secong set, 6-2, and earned the tiebreaking victory, 10-6, to earn the Seawolves' only point of the afternoon.
Bryce Keefer won the first set he played, but lost the second frame and the following tiebreaker (6-4, 3-6, 4-10). The two matches would be the closest of the afternoon, as Hawaii Pacific cruised to the 8-1 win.
Sonoma State will take a couple of weeks off before returning to action on Mar. 5 at Division I UC Davis at Noon.
