GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Sonoma State's David Hutton and Seth Hein almost pulled off the upset at No. 1 doubles to set the tone for the match, but UC San Diego's Austin West and Devon Sousa came back from a 5-2 deficit in the tiebreaker to win the match and the Tritons rode the momentum to a 7-2 victory over the Seawolves on Sunday at the Paseo Racquet Center in Glendale, Ariz.  SSU, which had won its first two matches in Arizona on Thursday and Friday, has suffered two straight losses and falls to 2-4 this season.  UCSD goes to 6-1.

Hutton and Hein forced a tiebreaker and eventually led 5-2, but West and Sousa came roaring back to take the 9-8 win.

In singles play, Matt Roberts earned a convincing 6-3, 6-3 win at the No. 1 position over UCSD's Chapman Chan.  Drexler Dy also came back to earn a tough 2-6, 6-4 10-5 win at No. 2.  However, the Tritons flexed their muscles to win at No. 3, 4, 5 and 6 to clinch the 7-2 win.

Sonoma State will host Foothill JC in a scrimmage on Friday at 1:00 p.m. before heading out on the road for its next three matches.
