ROHNERT PARK, Calif. -- In a match featuring two nationally-ranked, in-region opponents, every match would be closely contested as expected, but it would be host and 45th-ranked Sonoma State to dispatch 47th-ranked Hawai'i-Hilo, 7-2, on Saturday at the SSU Tennis Courts in Rohnert Park.  It is the sixth straight victory for the Seawolves, improving to 8-8 overall and 7-3 against NCAA Division II opponents.

All nine matches would go back and forth, but Matt Roberts (7-6, 6-2), Greg Eckstedt (6-4, 6-4) and Garret Gooch (7-5, 7-6) would earn victories in straight sets.  Drexler Dy (4-6, 6-3, 7-6) dropped his first set, but came back to win his next two, and David Hutton (6-3, 6-7, 7-6) won his first, lost the second, but earned the victory with a third-set win.

Dy, Eckstedt and Gooch all won their sixth straight singles match.

In doubles play, Matt Roberts and Daniel Henke teamed up to win at No. 2 doubles, 8-4, folllowed by an 8-6 win by Jimmy Manning and Dy at No. 3 doubles to wrap up the 7-2 victory for the Seawolves.

Sonoma State will play its final dual match of the 2012 season on the road at Saint Mary's next Friday (Apr. 20).  FIrst serve is set for 3:00 p.m. in Moraga.  The Seawolves will then finish the year at the annual Ojai Valley Tournament on Apr. 27-29.
