BOX SCORE #19 Sonoma State 0, San Francisco State 0 (F/2OT) -- Box Score
ROHNERT PARK -- The Sonoma State women's soccer team held a 12-8 advantage in shots, but none of the 20 by either team combined would find the net as the 19th-ranked Seawolves were forced into a scoreless draw with visiting San Francisco State on Sunday afternoon at the Seawolf Soccer Field.
Sonoma, which started the season 6-0-2, is just 1-2-1 in its past four games, moving to 7-2-3 overall and 5-2-3 in the CCAA, trailing North Division-leader Cal State Stanislaus by eight points with six regular season games remaining. The Gators are now 4-5-3 (3-5-2 CCAA).
In each of the four periods, the Seawolves had a one-shot advantage on the Gators, including 1-0 in the first overtime and 2-1 in the second, but SFSU netminder Allison Land made six stops on the day and another team save kept SSU out of the net. Meanwhile, Seawolf keeper
Allison Hadidian made three saves on the day while recording her fourth shutout of the season.
Cara Curtin came off the bench to lead Sonoma State with five shots, two of which were on target.
Anna Martin,
Melissa Lafranchi and
Alicia Mertz had two shots each. For SF State, Elizet Ceja had three of the eight shots for her team in the 110-minute match.
Sonoma State will now play five of its final six regular season games on the road, beginning with a Friday night matchup at archrival Chico State. Kickoff from the University Soccer Field in Chico is set for 7:00 pm.
