TURLOCK, Calif. --
Held to just three shots in 90 minutes, the Sonoma State women's soccer team fell on the losing end of a 1-0 score against Cal State Stanislaus on Sunday in Turlock.  The Seawolves, who have already clinched a CCAA tournament berth, fall to 10-3-3 overall and 8-3-3 in conference play.  Meanwhile, the Warriors have captured the CCAA North Division title and the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament, remaining unbeaten this season at 14-0-2 overall and 12-0-2 in CCAA action.

It was an anticipated battle between two nationally-ranked squads and the top two teams in this week's NCAA regional poll.  Cal State Stanislaus, however, was out to seek revenge after Sonoma State earned the division title over CSUS with a victory on the final day of the regular season.

It was all Warriors, though, as the Seawolves managed three shots (none on target), including just one shot in the final 67 minutes of the match.  One of the 15 Cal State Stanislaus shots was a goal by Karenee Demery, who in the 12th minute, became the nation's leading scorer, netting her 19th goal of the season, which held up as the eventual game-winner.  Demery received a long ball from Katelyn Nebesnick and dribbled around defenders and blasted a long shot to the bottom left corner of the net for a goal.

Cal State Stanislaus added pressure in the second half, attempting 10 of their 15 shots in the half, but none would get past Allison Hadidian, who made two saves on the day.

Sonoma State will play its final two regular season matches on the road at Cal State East Bay (Friday at 7:00 pm) and at Humboldt State (Sunday at 11:30 am).  The Seawolves will then head back to Turlock in two weeks (Nov. 8-10) for the CCAA Soccer Championships that will be hosted at Warrior Stadium.  Seeds and times have yet to be determined.
