TURLOCK, Calif. -- Cal State Stanislaus led wire-to-wire and stayed perfect at home with a 69-47 win over Sonoma State at Fitzpatrick Arena in Turlock. The Warriors had both the inside and outside game going on Saturday as they moved to 10-0 in their home facility and 13-5 overall (9-5 in CCAA play). The Seawolves shot just 34% on their way to a season-low in points as they drop to 3-15, 2-12 CCAA.
While Sonoma State would keep it close in the early stages, the Warriors extended their lead to as many as 13 in the first half. The Seawolves scored just 20 points in the second half as the Warriors cruised to a victory and clinched their first season sweep of Sonoma since 1992-93.
Justin Herold led the Seawolves with 14 points and six rebounds.
David Ahern hit three-pointers on his way to 13 points, unfortunately the rest of the Seawolves shot just 2 for 14 from three-point range.
Cal State Stanislaus got 15 points and 17 rebounds from Marcus Bell, as well as 11 points and 10 rebounds from Rob Walters.
Following a stretch that featured 9 of 12 games on the road, the Seawolves will play six of their final eight at The Wolves' Den. First up is a Friday night matchup against Cal State L.A.. Cal State Dominguez Hills comes to town on Saturday, Feb. 8th for Pack The Den Night.
