Sonoma State 5, Point Loma Nazarene 4

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Logan Liddell's win at No. 5 singles clinched Sonoma State's first win of the spring on Friday afternoon as the Seawolves edged Point Loma Nazarene 5-4 in neutral court action in Glendale, Arizona.  Playing in their second match of the day, the Seawolves needed all the energy they could gather to top the Sea Lions and improve to 1-3 on the year.

Sonoma State took two points in doubles with wins by Liddell and Robert Henry at No. 2 and Seth Hein and Jimmy Manning at No. 3. 

In singles action, Vincent Paganetti quickly gave the Seawolves their third point of the match with a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 6.  Matt Roberts came next, winning a 6-4, 6-4 match at No. 1 to put Sonoma one point away from the clincher, which was delivered by Liddell at No. 5, 6-2, 6-4. 

The win allowed the Seawolves to avenge a 7-2 loss to the Sea Lions in 2013. 

Sonoma State's adventures in the Grand Canyon State continue tomorrow when they take on Montana State Billings.
