DAVIS, Calif. -- The Sonoma State men's tennis team suffered a 7-0 defeat at the hands of NCAA Division I UC Davis on Sunday at the Marya Welch Tennis Center in Davis. The Seawolves fell to 1-5 while the Aggies jumped to 9-3.
UC Davis' James Wade and Adam Levie topped SSU's top doubles team in
Philip Holbrook and
Noah Lee, 8-5. Paired with Jessie Ross, Alec Adamson won his second doubles match by downing
Logan Liddell and
Blaine Mengert, 8-2. Eli Whittle and Everett Maltby completed the doubles sweep with their 8-1 win over
Sullivan Roche and
Matt Weeber.
In singles play, the Aggies recorded straight-set victories in all six singles matchups against the Seawolves. Of the 12 collective sets played, only three were won by a lone service break. The rest were won by three or more games.
