ROHNERT PARK -- The 43rd-ranked Sonoma State men's tennis team cruised past visiting Hawaii Hilo on Tuesday afternoon, earning its third win in four matches with a 7-2 victory at the SSU Tennis Courts.  The Seawolves, ranked seventh in the West Region, improves to 4-9 while the Vulcans, ranked eighth in the West Region, falls to 2-16.

In doubles play, the pairings of Blaine Mengert/Logan Liddell (8-6) and Sullivan Roche/Matt Weeber (9-8 (4)) notched victories at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, but Hawaii Hilo's No. 1 pairing of Kainoa Rosa and Kallen Mizuguchi, No. 9-ranked team in the region, stole away an 8-6 decision over the No. 8-ranked team in the region, Philip Holbrook and Noah Lee.

However, with a 2-1 lead, the Seawolves continued to surge, notching straight-set wins at No. 2, 3, 5 and 6 by Lee (6-3, 6-4), Mengert (6-1, 6-1), Garret Gooch (6-0, 6-2) and Vincent Paganetti (6-1, 6-3), respectively, to secure Sonoma's win.  Holbrook, ranked 17th in the West Region, added to the point total for SSU, rallying from a first-set loss to defeat the 19th-ranked Rosa, 3-6, 6-4 (10-8).

Sonoma State will return to the courts on Saturday when it hosts UC San Diego at 9:30 am.
