FRESNO, Calif. -- The Sonoma State tennis team battled, but in the end came up empty on a Sunday road trip to the Central Valley to take on Fresno State. Despite four matches left unfinished, the Bulldogs were able to clinch match with a 4-0 win. The Seawolves drop to 4-11 on the season with the defeat.
Fresno State took the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and 3 positions.
Philip Holbrook and
Noah Lee led, 5-4, at No. 1, though that match was left unfinished.
In singles play, the Bulldogs made quick work at the 4, 5, and 6 positions to put the match out of reach. Considering it was the Bulldogs' second match of the day, an extended afternoon was not in the cards. Lee was competitive at No. 2, finishing his day tied 5-5 in the first set.
The Seawolves will close out their home schedule next Friday when they host Holy Names.
