Sonoma got ahead in the first set at 13-10 thanks to kills by Andrews and Wiesner and a Warrior ball handling error. The Seawolves kept the lead for the rest of the set winning on a Stanislaus service error.

The two teams traded runs in the second set until 11 all when Sonoma made a push for the lead. Papale and Wiesner contributed a kill each and the Warriors errored for the first leg then got the ball back off of a Cal State Stanislaus service error, Andrews and Papale got blocked the next attack, and Papale got the kill. Two plays later the Seawolves were up 18-13 and the closest the Warriors could close the gap was by two. Sonoma won the set 25-21.

In the third set Cal State Stanislaus was behind until a 5 point unanswered run brought the score 10-11 in their favor. The Seawolves regained the lead, but the score tied at 14-all, but the Warriors went on a 7-1 point run to get ahead 20-15 and that was enough to secure the set.
