SURPRISE, Ariz. -- The Sonoma State men's tennis team suffered a 5-0 loss to top-ranked Hawaii Pacific on opening day of the 2016 PacWest Men's Tennis Championships at Surprise Tennis & Racquet Center Thursday in Surprise, Ariz.
The Seawolves, the No. 8 seed in this week's conference tournament, dropped to 1-19 this season and into the consolation bracket where they will face the loser of BYU-Hawaii and Holy Names at 1:30 pm Friday. The No. 1 seed Sharks improved to 15-3 and advances to the PacWest semifinals against the winner of the Seasiders and Hawks.
