SANTA CRUZ, Calif. -- With a gutsy 5-4 win over the Banana Slugs, the Sonoma State Seawolves snapped a 20-year, 17-match losing streak match Saturday afternoon against UC Santa Cruz. With the victory the Seawolves move to 2-1 on the year, while the Banana Slugs fall to 0-3.

The Seawolves, who lost two of three doubles matches and went into singles competition down 2-1, needed at least four Seawolves to win in singles play to win the match. With victories from Nate Oppenheim, Max Nudell, Igor Pissarenko and Alec Wong the Seawolves won the match 5-4.

The Seawolves travel to face Division I opponent UC Davis next Saturday. First serve to be served at 10am.
