ROHNERT PARK, Calif. -- On Friday afternoon, the Seawolves welcomed the Eagles of Concordia (CA). The contest's decision came down to the final match in which Sonoma was victorious and thereby won the match 5-4. The Seawolves improved to 7-2 on the season, while the Eagles fall to 4-4.
The Seawolves jumped to a quick 3-0 lead after winning all three of their doubles matches, needing only two singles match victories to claim victory. In Singles Match play the Seawolves got wins from
Alec Wong and
Sean Alves.
Alec Wong was the first Singles match to finish and he beat his opponent, Shimon Murakami in Singles 6 (6-1, 6-1).
The Seawolves would go on to lose the next four singles matches which tied up the score 4-4. It all came down to Singles 2 where
Sean Alves took on Nikita Katsnelson and beat him in three sets to clinch the Seawolves victory (4-6, 7-6, 6-0).
The Seawolves take on California Lutheran Next Saturday, March 17. First serve will be served at 11am.
