ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Sonoma State women's cross country team competed in the Lewis Crossover this weekend, all the way in Illinois. The Seawolves placed 23
rd in the 25-team race that featured NCAA programs from all across the country.
Sophie Rodriguez was the first Seawolf to cross the finish line with a 24:56.2, good for 119 points. Right behind Rodriguez was
Abby Ribet, crossing at 25:09.2 and earning SSU 126 points.
Five more Sonoma State runners would finish the 6k race with Madison Petersen (25:36.6),
Sara Wenger (26:49.2) and
Alex Boyle (27:26.8) rounding out the Seawolves scoring.
Alex Doyle (31:08.7) and Zoe Baker-Cohn (32:26.1) also completed the race.
The race was won by No. 1 ranked Grand Valley State with host school Lewis University finishing second.
The Seawolves have one final race before the CCAA Championships. They will compete in the Santa Clara Invitational next Saturday at Baylands Park.
