BILLINGS, MONT.- One of the best seasons in recent years for Sonoma State Cross Country continued at the NCAA Regional meet in Billings, Montana. The team raced their way to a 14th place finish in a field featuring over 30 teams!
Constance O'Neal's breakout season has not skipped a beat as she finished the six kilometer course in 21:22.40. She earned an 11th place finish and was one of the top representatives for the CCAA as a whole. For her perfroamnce on the course O'Neal was named to the NCAA All-West Region Team and has booked a ticket to the NCAA National Championship meet! Her debut season with the Seawolves cross country program has been nothing short of outstanding! Senior Sophie Rodriguez was the number two Seawolf on the day with a 22:13.88 finishing time.Â
As has been the case for the whole season the Seawolves have deployed outstanding freshmen. The pair of Mckenzie Kordic and Scarlett Riddle have continued that trend. The pair finished in 22:34.69 and in 22:44.85 respectively. Kordic has already been named to the CCAA All-Conference squad and will be a key piece for the Seawolves for a long time.
Rounding out the group on the course was another freshman, Angeline Gutierrez. Gutierrez wrapped up the course in 25:17.75. This group has been outstanding all year and has an incredibly bright future.Â
