ROHNERT PARK, CALIF. - On Saturday September 4th, the Sonoma State women's cross country team resumed competition for the first time since the 2019 fall season at the Mark Covert Invitational hosted by Cal State Fullerton. The Seawolves were one of just a small handful of Division II teams competing in the race alongside Division I programs in Cal State Fullerton, Sacramento State, USC, and Pepperdine.
Alexandria Boyle, from Oceanside, California, was the top runner for the Seawolves at the Mark Covert Invitational. Boyle placed 32nd out of 138 participants with a time of 19.17.6 in the 5k. Sophie Rodriguez would follow Boyle for Sonoma State with a time of 20.59.8 in the same event. The team would go on to finish 11th overall out of the 14 teams.
The Seawolves will continue with their fall season on September 10th at the San Francisco State Invitational held at Golden State Park's Speedway Meadow. Click HERE for the full 2021 schedule.
