Seawolves Slip Past Nanooks, 68-62

Olivia Larkin scored a career-high 22 points in Friday's win
CHICO, Calif-  Sonoma State got a game-high 22 points from sophomore Olivia Larkin to defeat Alaska 68-62 on Friday evening in the first game of the 2008 Coslet Classic in Chico.  The Seawolves improve to 2-0 on the season while the Nanooks stumble to 1-2.

Sonoma State scored nearly half of their points, 32 in all, at the free throw line.  The Seawolves would connect on 32-of-41 attempts in the game.

The first half was fairly tight with five ties and several lead changes before Sonoma went into the break up four, 32-28.  The lead would stay in single digits throughout all of the second half as well with the Seawolves pulling away for good in the final couple minutes.

Larkin's career-high scoring night came on 6-of-8 shooting from the field and 8-of-9 shooting from the free throw line.  Freshman Jaclyn Bisordi also had a nice game, pouring in 13 points in 13 minutes of work.  Lauren Redfield had 11 points and seven rebounds as well.

Ronisha Edwards led the Nanooks with an 18-point, 12-rebound double-double.

The Seawolves will face Dixie State on Saturday night.
