The Seawolves stumbled to 3-6 on the season and evened their conference record at 2-2. The Lumberjacks avenged an earlier home loss to the Seawolves while improving to 6-3 (3-1 CCAA).

Humboldt State had lots of emotion right from the opening tip after Sonoma State stole a 65-50 victory from the Lumberjacks back on Dec. 12 at Arcata. The Seawolves scored the first points of the game on a layup by Chad Chambers but the Lumberjacks would go on a 14-4 run over the next four minutes to take an eight point lead. Humboldt State then stretched its lead to 23-9 with 11 minutes remaining in the opening half and Sonoma State wouldn't get any closer.

The Lumberjacks had three players in double-figures at halftime -- Kevin Atkins (11), Zac Tiedeman (11), and Brian Morris (10) -- to pace HSU to a commanding 40-27 lead after 20 minutes. The 'Jacks hit 16-of-27 from the floor (57.1 percent) while Sonoma State dropped in 9-of-19 from the field (47.4).

However, Humboldt State would pull away, hitting 67.9 percent in the second half alone (19-28), including 8-of-12 from three point range. The Lumberjacks led in nearly every statistical category, including rebounds (33-18), assists (21-6) and steals (7-4). Morris came off the bench to lead all scorers with 22 points and a game-high eight rebounds. Atkins and Tiedeman netted 17 points each and Elliot Babcock-Krenk added 13.

Arterberry's 13 and Steven Pratt's 10 led the Seawolves on Tuesday night.

Sonoma State will take a break for the holiday season and return to the hardwood on Jan. 2 when the Seawolves visit San Francisco State at 7:30 p.m.
