ROHNERT PARK, Calif- The Sonoma State softball team earned a split on Sunday to finish 5-1 over the weekend at the Seawolf Invitational in Rohnert Park. Both games went to extra innings as the Seawolves beat Chico State in eight (1-0) and lost to Cal State Monterey Bay in nine (5-3). The day's results leave the Seawolves at 13-13 overall.
Lindsay Emmel continued her phenomenal tournament in the game one victory over Chico with her third shutout and fourth victory of the event. This time, she had to go to eight innings to earn the win, allowing just four hits and one walk while striking out six. Emmel improves to 6-5 on the season and lowers her earned run average to 1.73.

Ashley Britton with the game's only strike in the eighth. Emmel came back in the bottom of the frame to shut the door, 1-2-3.
Game two was another tight affair, though the Seawolves would fall in extras. This time, the Seawolves got out to a 3-0 lead, only to see CSU Monterey Bay strike back to tie it with two runs in the fourth and another in the fifth.
Brittany Reynolds held the Otters at bay until the ninth inning when a pair of runs scored as a result of wild pitches.
The Seawolves return to action on Wednesday when they host Notre Dame de Namur in a makeup doubleheader. Their originally scheduled twinbill was postponed due to rain.
