ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  The visiting Cal State Monterey Bay Otters made only 16 shots from the field on Thursday night, however ten of them were from three-point territory, propelling the Otters to a 52-45 win over Sonoma State at The Wolves' Den in Rohnert Park.  The Otters complete their first-ever season sweep of the Seawolves, improving to 13-5, 9-5 CCAA in the process.  The Seawolves fall to 9-11, 7-8 CCAA.

A slow first half saw the teams combine for just 16 points total in the first ten and a half minutes of play before a 13-4 run by CSUMB put the Otters up by 11 with 5:10 left.  They would be able to hold on to that lead for the remainder of the period, finishing the first stanza up 12 at 29-17.

Sonoma got back in the game with a quick 7-0 run during the first three minutes of the second that drew them within five at 29-24.  The lead would hover between five and ten until the Seawolves finally got it down to four on a jumper by Nadia Williams with 2:08 left in the game.  Still leading by four with less than 15 seconds left, the Otters would hit three of their four free throw attempts to ice the game.

Seven of the Otters' nine field goals in the first half were of the three-point variety.  Three of their seven second half buckets were also treys.  Veronica Williams went for 14 points and Julie Heurung had 14 rebounds in the win.

Williams and Jaclyn Bisordi each had ten points to pace Sonoma State.  Oly Larkin and Elizabeth Day had five rebounds.

The Seawolves hope to bounce back on Saturday night when they host San Francisco State.  The Gators were an upset winner up in Arcata on Thursday night, 63-61 over Humboldt State.
