Randy Wells then came up in the third inning and tripled down the right field line, scoring Steven Filippi to knot the score at one. The Toros pulled away, putting up a run in the fourth and two more in the sixth to give Cal State Dominguez Hills a comfortable 4-1 lead.

Hogans came up in the bottom of the sixth, cutting the Toro lead in half with a deep shot to left center field. The Seawolves then got one more run in their next offensive chance when Brian Wright scored on a balk by Kurowski. It would be as close as Sonoma State would get.
