BOX SCORE: Sonoma State 46, San Francisco State 37
ROHNERT PARK, Calif- Defense was the name of the game on Thursday evening as the Sonoma State women's basketball team used a stifling performance to defeat San Francisco State 46-37 in CCAA action at The Wolves' Den in Rohnert Park. The win is the Seawolves' first home victory of the season as they improve to 5-8, 3-6 CCAA. The Gators continue their struggles, dropping to 1-12, 1-8 CCAA.
The Seawolves got out to a slow start, missing their first four shots and turning the ball over six times in the first five minutes while the Gators grabbed a 6-0 lead. From the moment the Seawolves got their first basket, however, the tone of the game changed completely.

Sonoma's lead would swell to as many as 19 in the second half at 40-21 before the Gators finally showed some life and made things a bit interesting. A 10-0 run sliced the lead to nine at 40-31 and three minutes later SF State would narrow it to five at 42-37 with 1:19 to go, but that's as close as they'd get.
