BOX SCORE ROHNERT PARK, Calif- Behind a double-double from junior
Marie Sweet, the Sonoma State women's basketball team rolled out a season-high in points on their way to a 75-55 victory over Cal State Stanislaus on Saturday evening at The Wolves' Den. The Seawolves got out to an early lead and never looked back as they improve to 3-4, 2-2 CCAA. The Warriors stumble to 3-5, 0-4 CCAA on the year.
The 75 points were the most scored by the defensive-minded Seawolves since a 75-68 win over Cal State L.A. last January.
Sonoma started strong, building up a 16-4 lead in the first eight minutes on splendid shooting from both near and long range. While the Warrior offense started picking up a bit late in the first half, they'd never get closer than nine as the Seawolves did a nice job keeping their margin in tact. The Seawolves led by ten at the break, 31-21.
Like in the first half, the Seawolves' advantage was never threatened in the second either, as the quickly built the lead to 19 at 46-27 with 15:07 to go. The Seawolves would lead by as many as 22 before settling on a 20-point win, 75-55.
Sweet finished the night with career-highs of 14 points and 13 rebounds. She shot 6-of-13 from the field and also supplied two assists and a block.
Aly Conway also had a nice night, posting nine points and nine rebounds.

The Seawolves shot 38.4% from the field and committed just eight turnovers- by far their lowest output of the year.
Cal State Stanislaus got 21 points from Theresa Henderson, the conference's leading scorer. No one else was in double figures as the Warriors struggled to a 29.2% mark in the first half (33.9% for the game).
Now 2-2 in conference play, the Seawolves will try to go above .500 on Monday night when they take on rival Chico State. The Wildcats are also 2-2 in the CCAA, following a 72-62 setback to Humboldt State on Saturday.
