BOX SCORE HAYWARD, Calif- Kristina Fahey came off the bench to score a game-high 11 points and Sonoma State led for all but 51 seconds to defeat host Cal State East Bay in convincing fashion, 59-35, at Pioneer Gym on Friday night in Hayward. After a made basket by Cal State East Bay's Marlene MacMillan at the 19:28 mark, Sonoma State came right back down the floor on its next possession and Marie Sweet nailed a three pointer to put the Seawolves up one at 3-2.  From then on, it was all Sonoma State.  Sweet's three-ball started a 20-5 run over the next 12 minutes to put SSU up 13 points at 20-7.  The Pioneers would cut into the lead on consecutive three pointers by Lauren Lucchesi and Cassie Coble, but the seven-point deficit would be as close as the hosts would get all night.

SSU would go back up by 11 points (24-13) with 4:34 left, but CSUEB again got to within seven points before a pair of trey's by Fahey and Roxanne Rentschler, in addition to a made jumper by Taylor Vigil, put the Seawolves up 13-points, 32-19, at halftime.

The lead would remain at double-digits for the rest of the night, but Sonoma State continued to slowly pull away.  It eventually grabbed its largest lead of the night (26 points) when Bronte Sheahan hit a jump shot with 43 seconds left to give the Seawolves the 59-33 lead.  The Pioneers' Coble scored the final bucket of the night, but it would be the Seawolves' night, earning the 59-35 win.

Fahey was the only player scoring in double-figures on Friday, scoring nine of her 11 points from beyond the three-point arc.  She went 4 of 6 from the floor, including 3 for 4 from deep.  Rentschler and Vigil chipped in with eight points apiece while Jaclyn Bisordi netted seven points while bringing down five rebounds.  Elizabeth Day was the leading rebounder for SSU, corralling eight of the Seawolves' 37 boards.  As a team, the visitors hit 22 of their 48 shots (45.8 percent), including 6 of 17 from three-point land.  Sonoma State won the turnover battle as well, giving up the ball just 15 times while taking advantage of 23 Cal State East Bay miscues, scoring 19 points off of them.

For Cal State East Bay, Lucchesi scored a team-high nine points and Coble scored eight as the Pioneers shot just 22.6 from the field on 12 of 53 shooting (4 of 28 from three-point range).
