Seawolves Flounder Against San Francisco State, 63-49

BOX SCORE San Francisco State 63, Sonoma State 49 -- Box Score

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.--
The Sonoma State men's basketball team traveled to San Francisco to play game two of the home-and-home series against the Gators of San Francisco State.  The Seawolves did not look themselves, putting up the least amount of points this season in the 63-49 loss.  After winning three games in a row, the Seawolves have dropped two consecutive games, falling to a 3-3, 2-2 CCAA record.

San Francisco State controlled the game, outscoring Sonoma State 42-20 in the first half.  The Seawolves were not able to put together a significant run to close the deficit, however, SSU shot 67 percent from the free-throw line in the first half.  Another bright spot for the Seawolves in the first half was the bench play, who accounted for 12 of Sonoma State's 20 first half points.

With a 22-point hole to attempt to climb out of, Sonoma State shot 45 percent in the second half, as they tried to stage a comback.  The Seawolves cut the decifit to 14 points after a three point play by Patrick Scott put the score at 51-37 with 8:19 left to play in regulation.  However, that would be as close as the Seawolves would get, as they took the tough loss, 63-49.

Justin Herold led the Seawolves in scoring for the second game in a row, netting 12 points in the loss.  Patrick Scott chipped in with nine points and Will Olsem contributed seven points, going 2-of-6 from beyond the arc.

For the Gators, Decensae White led all scorers with a double-double (17 pts, 12 rbs), while Calvin Otiono and Robbie Herndon help the SF State offense by contributing eight points each.

Sonoma State will play host to Notre Dame de Namur on Wednesday, Dec. 19th in the Wolves' Den.  Tip off is set for 7:30 pm.
