POMONA, Calif. -- The Sonoma State women's basketball team stuggled to find an offensive rhythm on Thursday night, shooting just 25 percent from the floor (15 for 60), including just 13 percent on 3 of 23 from beyond three-point range, contributing to a 62-48 loss to host Cal Poly Pomona at Kellogg Gym. The Seawolves have dropped their last five games, plummeting to 4-9 overall and 2-7 in the CCAA. The Broncos improve to 8-5 (6-3 CCAA).

Travis Newman came off the bench to lead the team with nine points, followed by
Kristina Fahey and
Bronte Sheahan with six points each.
Elizabeth Day brought down a career-high 13 rebounds in the loss, but chipped in with just four points on the night.
Cal Poly Pomona was led by the double-double effort of J.J. Judge, who netted a game-high 18 points, most of which came from five made three-pointers, and corralled 11 rebounds in 31 minutes of action. She would be the only player on either team that saw playing time on Thursday that put in 10 or more points.
Sonoma State will now make a 680-mile trek up north to Arcata for a Saturday night showdown with Humboldt State. Tip off from Lumberjack Arena is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. The Seawolves will then return home for a brief two-game homestand, beginning with a matchup with Cal State San Bernardino next Friday (Jan. 25) in The Wolves' Den.
