POMONA, Calif. – The Sonoma State baseball team was once again led by dominant pitching performances from Harmen Sidhu and Glenn Wallace, who have been virtually unhittable this season, posting ERAs of 0.53 and 0.94, respectively.  The Seawolves were able to take game one to Saturday's doubleheader by a narrow margin of 3-1, and posted six runs in the nightcap in a 6-0 victory; giving SSU the 3-1 series win.  Sonoma State improves to 21-9, 13-7 CCAA on the season, while the Broncos of Cal Poly Pomona fall to 18-15, 11-13 CCAA.

GAME 1: #20 SONOMA STATE 3, CAL POLY POMONA 1 – BOX SCORE
Starting pitcher Harmen Sidhu (6-1) tied his season-high with 11 strikeouts and recorded his first complete game of the season by throwing 130 pitches, leading the Seawolves to the 3-1 victory. Sidhu's counterpart, Ryan Dunn (2-1), was faced with the tough luck loss as he gave up one run on five hits, while striking out a season-high eight batters.

Sonoma State outfielder Garrett Schwartz continued to see the ball well at the plate, getting the Seawolves on the board with his fourth homerun of the season in the top of fourth inning, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead.  The Seawolves were able to get a couple of much needed insurance runs in the top of the ninth on a two-RBI double by Steven Moen that scored Devon Zenn from third and Jackson Stogner from first, to take a 3-0 lead.

Cal Poly Pomona was able to load the bases in the bottom half of the ninth inning, but could only garner one run by way of a sacrifice fly by Joseph Eusebio.  However, Sidhu would strike out the next two batters to end the game, securing the 3-1 win.

Scott Harkin, Zenn, Steven Filippi, Moen, and Nathan Bernstein all recorded one hit in the win, in addition to Schwartz's 2-for-4 day at the plate.  For the Broncos, Bo Walter led the way at the dish with a 2-for-4 day.  Five other players tallied one hit in the loss, while Eusebio knocked in the only RBI for the hosts.

GAME 2: #20 SONOMA STATE 6, CAL POLY POMONA 0 – BOX SCORE
Sonoma State picked up right where they left off in game one, by driving in six runs in the 6-0 win over the Broncos behind yet another stellar outing from starting pitcher Glenn Wallace (4-0) who threw a complete seven inning game, allowing zero runs on three hits while fanning three Broncos.  Pomona's Cody Ponce picked up his first loss of the season after giving up six runs (four earned) on eight hits, falling to 3-1 for the season.

Garrett Schwartz drove in his sixth RBI of the series in the first inning on a fielder's choice that knocked in Jackson Stogner who drew a walk to lead off the game.  In the fourth inning, the Seawolves were able to get three runs across, all coming with two outs, two of which were unearned due to defensive errors, to take a 4-0 lead.  The 20th-ranked Seawolves tacked on two more runs in the sixth inning on a two-RBI single to center field by Scott Harkin that scored Tyler Glenn and Gary Detwiler, giving SSU a commanding 6-0 lead.  Six runs would be more than enough, as Wallace would get a 1-2-3 inning to end the game and give the Seawolves the 6-0 victory.

Harking and Glenn led the Seawolf offense, each going 2-for-4 at the plate.  Harkin also knocked in two runs along side one RBI each by Schwartz and Jeffery Boulware.  The Broncos were only able to record three hits against Wallace, two coming off the bat of Jason Padlo and one from Nick O'Loughin.

Sonoma State will continue their 11-game road trip with a four-game series against the Otters of Cal State Monterey Bay in Seaside, Calif. next weekend.  Game one will begin at 3:00 pm on Friday, April 5.
