HAYWARD, Calif. --
Megan Konieczka hit a pair of solo home runs to extend her hit streak to 14 games -- the first was the go-ahead (and eventual game-winning) home run in the opener and the second tied the nightcap, both in the top of the seventh inning -- but the Sonoma State softball team was again forced to split a doubleheader with Cal State East Bay on Sunday in Hayward for the second straight day.  The Seawolves move to 10-8 overall and just 4-8 in the CCAA while the Pioneers, who earned both wins this weekend by way of a walkoff, rise to 6-10 and 5-7 in conference play.

Konieczka and Ancia Purdy each had three hits apiece in the doubleheader and Keisi Chinen smacked her third home run of the season in the opener to pace the offense.  Amanda Llerena (7-5) threw every pitch for the Seawolves in the circle on Sunday, allowing seven runs on 12 hits and five walks, striking out 11.

In the first game, Cal State East Bay jumped out to a 3-0 lead after a two-run home run in the third inning and a solo shot in the fourth, but Llerena settled down and held the Pioneers to just 2 for 14 at the plate the rest of the way.

Trailing by three runs in the fifth inning, Sonoma State got the bats going and, thanks to an RBI single by Holli Brown and a two-run home run by Chinen, knotted the ballgame up at 3-3.  Two innings later, Konieczka hammered the go-ahead home run to left field to give the Seawolves a 4-3 lead.

The Pioneers wouldn't go down without a fight, however, as Llerena gave up a one-out triple, but would strand that runner on third base with consecutive strikeouts to end the game and notch the victory.  In the game, Llerena gave up just four hits and walked two while striking out eight.

Konieczka and Katy Bihl led with two hits each, combining for half of Sonoma's eight hits.

In the series finale, it was Sonoma State to score first when Ancia Purdy led off the game with a triple before coming home to score on a wild pitch.  Cal State East Bay responded with a two-RBI single in the second inning, followed by a solo home run in the third to take a 3-1 lead.

The Seawolves began to chip away in the sixth when Ashley Long connected on an RBI single, scoring Chinen to trail by a run at 3-2, then with two outs in the top of the seventh inning, Konieczka delivered again, sneaking a bomb just inside the left field foul pole to knot the game at 3-3.

The Pioneers had a tiny bit of late-inning magic still left in them and, with one out, they would put runners in scoring position with a single and a double before Ali Cerminara lifted a walkoff sacrifice fly deep to left field to score Alex Vela for the 4-3 win; it was the second walkoff win for Cal State East Bay in as many days.

Purdy and Long had two hits apiece in the loss.  Llerena was tagged with the loss after scattering eight CSUEB hits and walking three in addition to three strikeouts.

Sonoma State returns home to face nationally-ranked UC San Diego on Friday and Saturday.  The Tritons were forced to cancel their four-game series with Cal State Monterey Bay this weekend in La Jolla due to rain, but will enter this weekend's series with a 12-2 record and a conference-leading 7-1 mark against CCAA opponents.  First pitch of Friday's doubleheader will be thrown at 12:00 pm.
