TURLOCK, Calif. --
Hayley Condon delivered a game-winning double to left field, scoring Megan Konieczka from second base to lift the Sonoma State softball team to a walkoff 6-5 victory over Western Washington at the Warrior Softball Field in Turlock on Thursday.  The Seawolves improve to 24-11 this season while the Vikings fall to 17-9.

After a 1-2-3 inning for Amanda Llerena in the top of the first, the Seawolves posted five runs in their first at bat on five hits, a walk, two hit-by-pitches and a passed ball. Four of the five runs came home on an Amanda Rossetta bases-loaded three-run double before Aubrie Tolliver followed with an RBI single up the middle to score Rossetta; the other run scored on a passed ball with three runners on base.

Western Washington got a run back in the second inning on a solo shot over the center field fence, then exploded for four runs in the third to knot the game at 5-5.

From then on, it became a pitcher's duel between Llerena and WWU's Shayna Adelstein, who replaced starter Jenna DeRosier in the bottom of the first inning.  Adelstein worked the final six and a thirds innings and allowed five hits and one run, which so happened to be the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning.  DeRosier lasted just one-third of a frame, giving up five runs on four hits and a walk before being taken out.  Llerena, on the other hand, scattered 10 hits and gave up five runs while striking out eight, improving to 15-7 this season.

In the bottom of the seventh, Konieczka drew a one-out walk and advanced to second on a passed ball.  After Adelstein got Keisi Chinen to pop out for the second out, Condon took a 2-1 pitch over the left fielders head, allowing Konieczka to scamper in from second for the walkoff win.

The Seawolves recorded nine hits, led by two hits each from Ashley Long and Rossetta.  Meanwhile the Vikings got three hits from leadoff hitter Autumn Issacson.

Sonoma State remains in Turlock to participate in the 13th Annual Tournament of Champions, presented by the Turlock Convention & Visitors Bureau this weekend. The Seawolves will open up the 24-team tournament on Friday at 6:00 pm against Notre Dame de Namur on Field 5 of the Pedretti Regional Sports Complex.  SSU enters the annual event with a 43-27 all-time record in the TOC, including a Gold Bracket title in 2010.
