BOX SCORE ARCATA, Calif. -- Sara Van Wagoner broke a scoreless tie in the 58th minute, and after Fresno Pacific countered with the equalizer less than four minutes later, Bella Amyx netted the go-ahead goal just two minutes after that, lifting the Sonoma State women's soccer team to a 2-1 win in Thursday's season opener against the Sunbirds in Arcata. 

The Seawolves rise to 1-0-0 on the year.

Sonoma will remain in Arcata to take on Colorado Mesa on Saturday at 11:30 am before hosting Dixie State next Thursday at 5:00 pm at the Seawolf Soccer Field.
