San Bernadino,Ca - The Seawolves spent their Saturday morning in San Bernardino competing in CSUSB's Coyote Challenge 5k. With a team total of 205 points (27, 33, 46, 49, 50, 62, 63) and a 1st to 5th split of 55 seconds, they finished 7th out of 12 teams.
Sonoma's freshman were the standouts of the race as Ashley Mendenhall with a sub-19 min time of 18:53.81 (finishing 30th) finished first for the Pack. Mendenhall was closely followed by fellow freshman Hailey Cross in 40th with a time of 19:06.17.
Thriving in the perfect race day conditions the rest of the team finished with Junior Gina Rowley coming in at 19:39, Sophomores Alana Reyna and Rachel Spektor at 19:45 and 19:48, Senior Taylor Towne at 20:39, and Freshman Amanda Lewis rounding out the scoring seven at 20:56.
SSU will return to their training this week with Coach David Lawrence Jr. before heading up to Sacramento to compete in the Capital Cross Challenge on Saturday the 28th at 9:00am
