LODI, CALIF. - On Friday October 1st, the Sonoma State cross country team looked to continue their improved success this week in a night meet at the Pacific Invitational. Head coach
David Lawrence Jr. brought six runners to the 6k race, five of which coming in as true freshman. It would be a new race on a different week but the same story for SSU as freshman
Alex Boyle would lead the way yet again recording a 6k time of 22:37.2. This would be Boyle's third race of the fall season and her second in the 6k event. Boyle's 9th place finish out of 90 runners would also go down as her first top-10 finish in her short Seawolf career.
Freshman
Sophie Rodriguez would follow Boyle for the Seawolves next best finish in the Pacific Invitational. Rodriguez would record a time of 23:22.2 good for 22nd overall.
Abby Ribet and
Sara Wenger would finish inside the top 60 for SSU with
Maddy Petersen and Zoë Baker-Cohn rounding out the group for the Seawolves.
The fifth place team finish would come ahead of CCAA member SF State and division I member Santa Clara and go down as the teams best finish this fall. The Seawolves are back in action on October 9th for the Lewis Crossover and will look to continue their success during the 2021 fall season.
