Sonoma State Athletics Spectator Policy Update

On Tuesday, January 11, 2022, amid a local and regional surge in COVID-19 cases due to the Omicron variant, Sonoma State University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced that home athletic events will be held without spectators through Friday, February 11, 2022. The temporary policy follows a recent health order issued by Sonoma County Public Health Officer, Dr. Sundari Mase, restricting gatherings of large groups of more than 50 people in indoor settings and groups of more than 100 people in outdoor settings. Sonoma County's health order went into place at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, and will be in effect until Friday, February 11, 2022, unless changed or rescinded.

The following games will fall under the no spectators policy:

Thursday, January 13, 2022 – Men's and Women's Basketball vs. Cal Poly Pomona

Saturday, January 15, 2022 – Men's and Women's Basketball vs. Cal State San Bernardino

Thursday, January 27, 2022 – Men's and Women's Basketball vs. Stanislaus State

Saturday, January 29, 2022 – Men's and Women's Basketball vs. Chico State (Pack the Den Night)

Saturday, February 5, 2022 – Baseball vs. Holy Names

Thursday, February 10, 2022 – Softball vs. Holy Names

Thursday, February 10, 2022 – Men's and Women's Basketball vs. Cal State East Bay

Friday, February 11, 2022 – Baseball vs. Academy of Art

The current health order allows fans to attend SSU home athletic events again beginning February 12, 2022. We hope to see you on that date for our scheduled basketball contest against Dominguez Hills and our scheduled baseball game against Academy of Art. Should the health order change in the following weeks, we will share updated policies and recommendations on this page.

Beginning February 12th, SSU home events will revert back to our previous spectator policy which can be viewed below:
