ROHNERT PARK, CALIF. - On Thursday, September 1st, the 2022 CCAA preseason poll was released with Sonoma State earning 32 points and the 10th selection out of the 11 conference programs. Since head coach David Lawrence Jr.'s arrival in 2019, the Seawolves cross country program has made impressive strides with a historic finish in last year's CCAA Championships. The Seawolves finished 8th out of the 11 competing schools, good for the programs best finish at the conference championships in well over a decade. 

Lawrence Jr. has also continued to develop current sophomore runner Alex Boyle into a young star as Boyle broke into the all-time ranks as a true freshman and ran the program's fastest time at the conference championships with a 21:54.3 in the 6k (5th fastest all-time). Other notable returners for the Seawolves include Maddy Petersen, Sophie Rodriguez, and Sara Wenger and four newcomers also join the squad for the 2022 season. 

The team opens up their 2022 campaign this weekend as they host the Seawolf Invite in Fresno at Woodward Park, resuming the event for the first time since 2017.
