WAIMEA, HI. - On Saturday, October 28th, the Sonoma State men's golf team concluded their week long trip in Hawaii where they competed in the HPU Sharks Shootout and the Dennis Rose Invitational. Today, the Seawolves finished the two round event in the Dennis Rose Invitational with a 12th place finish out of 17 competing teams. The majority of the field were 2023 NCAA regional participants when SSU hosted the regional last spring at Foxtail Golf Course. Second year golfer
Colin Huang would put together a stellar week and record another top three finish with his 5-under performance. Huang held on for a tie for third with an even par final round but recorded six birdies on Friday to record a 5-under-par first round. Senior
Lucas Happy would round out the top ten finishing the two round event 2-under-par.
The Seawolves finished 20-over-par and struggled to find birdies in round one. On Saturday, first year golfer
Jack Brown bounced back for a solid 73 (+1). Happy and Huang battled through a hectic final round but each finished even par. Freshman
Cole Kroeker and veteran
Ryan Stewart recorded their best scores of the tournament in round one, combining for three birdies on the day. Full SSU results can be found below:
