SANTA BARBARA, CALIF.- After three rounds of play at the Sandpiper Golf Course the Sonoma State Men's Golf team put together an exceptional rally, led by Ivan Sablan, to secure a third place finish at the conference championship tournament!

Ivan Sablan put together his most inspired golf of the season during the final day of play. He entered the third round in 17th place after shooting three over par on the previous day. Sablan then locked into an incredibly clutch round that saw him post seven birdies, finish six under on the day and sky rocket up the leaderboards to a fourth place finish that earned him all-tournament team honors!

Alongside Sablan, Ryan Stewart also had an outstanding final round. Stewart had arguably his best start of the year with five brides across the first nine holes of play. To put into perspective how well he closed the tournament, he posted just two birdies across the first 36 holes in rounds one and two. Stewart also made a major climb up the leaderboards, climbing 11 spots to move into the top 18. 

Overall, it was a strong team effort to push the team up the standings late. Yet, the clutch play of Stewart and Sablan serve as huge momentum changing rounds of golf that have this team trending in the right direction with the regional tournament now awaiting them in just a few weeks!
