Foster & Gutman Lead Seawolves to Top 10 Finish at The Patriot Invitational

CARMEL, CALIF.- Sonoma State Women's Golf wrapped up another tournament with a solid top 10 team finish at The Patriot Invitational down in Carmel. The team faced a field featuring athletes from both NCAA Division I and Division II programs including the women's teams from Harvard and Dallas Baptist University.

Behind the play of Avery Foster and Talia Gutman, the Seawolves posted a pair of top 20 individual finishers and secured eighth place as a team.

Foster continues to be the leader for the Seawolves with a 15th place individual finish. Foster rebounded nicely on the final day of play moving three spots up the leaderboards after a somewhat slow start to the prior round of play. Across her final 18 holes Foster shot on par for 14 and finished the final day of play with a birdie for good measure. In eight tournament appearances this year she has been within the top 15 as an individual all eight times including four top five finishes.

Meanwhile, Talia Gutman also broke into the top 20 of individuals thanks to a great first round of play. In her first day on the court she finished shooting on par with four birdies. It was a solid rebound effort for Gutman who will look to return to her earlier season form where she posted three top 10 finishes during a four tournament stretch.
