SANTA BARBARA, CALIF.- Sonoma State Women's Golf wrapped up the CCAA Championship Tournament with star player Avery Foster leading the way!
Avery Foster held steady throughout the tournament securing a fifth place finish while consistently improving her score each round. It would culminate on a strong third and final day of play that saw the Seawolves leader shoot just a single stroke over par.
Alongside Foster, freshman standout Rilee Crosby also improved each day including a strong final nine holes that saw her climb four spots in the leaderboards. For the tournament, Crosby added six birdies to her resume.
Talia Gutman and Lauren Garcia rounded out the Seawolves scoring group with nine birdies between the pair. Gutman was also honored as the "Elite 13" award winner for Women's Golf in the CCAA. The "Elite 13" award recognizes the academic and athletic achievement of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.
Now the team will shift their focus to the NCAA Regional tournament in just two short weeks!
