TUCSON, ARIZ.- Sonoma State Women's Golf spent the weekend in Arizona competing at the WT Desert Invite which was hosted by West Texas A&M. The Seawolves submitted an outstanding team effort at Ventana Canyon Golf Course with Avery Foster earning an individual championship while Talia Gutman also broke into the top 10. 

Foster has continued her outstanding play which saw her not only named the individual champion of the WT Desert Invite but also the CCAA Women's Golfer of the Week! Foster recorded seven birdies across the two rounds of play and was particularly dialed in on the final nine holes where she ended the tournament with back to back birdies that saw her climb three spots up the leaderboards to secure the first place finish! This was Foster's second individual victory of the season to go along with seven total top ten finishes in nine tournament appearances.

Meanwhile, fellow upperclassman Talia Gutman also had a strong showing in the desert. Gutman finished in sixth place, good for her fourth top 10 finish of the year. In a field of over 100 athletes, Gutman was steady across both days with three birdies and shot on par for another 20 holes.

Rounding out the Seawolves top performers was freshman Rilee Crosby. Crosby has submitted a solid freshman year and continued to build upon her debut collegiate season with a 12th place finish. Crosby was consistent across the two days of play shooting a 79 through both rounds of play. She added a pair of birdies and an eagle to her resume for good measure.
