Softball Pounds Central Washington, 9-5

Shyrle Hawes blasted her first home run of the year on Saturday
TURLOCK, Calif-  Simone Brandalise drove in three runs and Dani Lopez scored three times to lead Sonoma State to a 9-5 win over Central Washington on Saturday afternoon at the Mizuno Tournament of Champions in Turlock.  The Seawolves leave the game with a record of 11-19.

The Seawolves busted open a one-run game with a four-run third inning to take a 4-1 lead.  Lopez keyed the rally with a two-run single up the middle.  Three batters later, Simone Brandalise drove in a pair with a two-run single the right.

SSU tacked on two more runs in the fifth, then took a 9-1 lead in the seventh when Shyrle Hawes blasted her first home run of the game.

Central Washington scored four times in the seventh inning to pull within five. 

The Seawolves will play Western Oregon later on Saturday.
