Softball Falls Behind Early, Loses To Western Oregon

TURLOCK, Calif-  Western Oregon scored four runs in the first inning on their way to a 5-2 win over Sonoma State on Friday evening at the Mizuno Tournament of Champions in Turlock.  The Seawolves will enter Sunday's action with an overall record of 11-20.  The Wolves of Western Oregon improve to 14-12.

The Wolves got to Seawolf starter Simone Brandalise for four runs and four hits on their way to opening up a 4-1 lead after one.  Each team scored again in the sixth to set the final margin at 5-1.

Simone Brandalise had two hits in the game to lead Sonoma State.  The sophomore went 4-for-7 on Saturday.  Freshman Jesse Talaugon also had two hits.

The Seawolves will take on Western Oregon again tomorrow at 9:00 am in a Silver Bracket quarterfinal.  If they win, they'll continue tournament play later on Sunday.
