LONG BEACH, Calif- One day after playing the nation's top ranked team, UCLA, the Seawolves took to the pool against another highly ranked squad, fourth-ranked Hawaii on Sunday. The Seawolves suffered a 14-6 loss, but they still opened some eyes in a battle against one of the country's best.
The Wahine pulled out to an 8-3 lead in the first half. SSU was able to hold even with Hawaii in the third quarter as each team put the ball in the net twice. UH was able to pull away in the fourth with four goals.
Sara Watt led the Seawolves with two goals while four other players scored one run a piece.
Lysa Lombard saw lots of action in goal, making ten saves.
The Seawolves play Long Beach State, another nationally ranked squad later on Sunday.
