Rohnert Park, CA - Last weekend the Seawolves traveled down to southern California for a 4-game set against Lindenwood, Austin College, Chapman University and #25 ranked Cal Baptist. After coming off their home opener loss to Cal State East Bay, coach Chelea Hennan and the Seawolves responded in a big way winning 3 of their 4 games convincingly to improve their record to 5-8 on the season.
In their big weekend, red-shirt senior Cassidy Mundt scored 15 total goals on 26 shots to lead the Seawolves on the weekend earning her WWPA Player of the Week honors! Mundt scored a game high 5 goals against Chapman and Cal Baptist, her 5 goals against CBU were good for 5 of the teams 9 total goals in the contest.Â
Mundt leads her team in almost every offensive category including total shots, shooting percentage, total points and total goals with 37. After having a medical red-shirt season during her 2018-2019 season, she has bounced back in a huge way and is leading the Seawolves to a great start on the season. SSU also scored a season high 14 goals in all three of their wins last weekend defeating Lindenwood, Austin College and Chapman University. Once again the Seawolves challenged and took #25 ranked Cal Baptist to the very end losing 9-12 just missing out on the weekend sweep.
Adding to her impressive season, Mundt is currently 4th on the scoring list for the entire WWPA, helping put the Seawolves in 4th place as a team in conference play up to this point. The Seawolves will look to add on to their win total this weekend as they compete in the Convergence Tournament hosted by Claremont where they will have another 4-game set on the weekend.
