Konrad Thieme hit his 12th and 13th home runs of the season on Saturday
ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  Konrad Thieme had two home runs, one of them a grand slam, to lead Sonoma State to a doubleheader sweep of Cal State Stanislaus on a hot Saturday afternoon at Seawolf Diamond in Rohnert Park.  Thieme drove in six runs on the day as the Seawolves won by scores of 7-1 and 11-2.  With the win, the sixth-ranked Seawolves improve to 39-7, 23-5 CCAA.  The Warriors drop to 31-18, 19-11 CCAA.

Matt Means had a phenomenal outing in game one, striking out 11 in 6.1 innings of work.  The Mountain View native improved to 7-0 on the season.

The Seawolves got out to an early lead when Konrad Thieme hit his first homer of the day, a two-run shot in the first inning.  Midway through the game, SSU pushed the lead to 5-0.  Kris Haycock added a home run, his fourth of the year.

The Warriors got on the board in the seventh, but the Seawolves answered right back with a pair in the bottom of the inning on an RBI single by Ian Bridges and a sac fly by Nick Nosti.

In game two, the Seawolves captured all the momentum with a four-run third inning, highlighted by a Konrad Thieme grand slam.  It was his team-high 13th home run of the season.

A six-run sixth inning pushed the lead to 11-0 and effectively put the game out of reach.  Ian Bridges added his fifth home run of the season in the rout.

Gary Moran was solid on the hill for the Seawolves, striking out seven and walking none in six and a third innings.

The Seawolves and Warriors continue their series tomorrow afternoon in Turlock.
