Ally Sather combined for 34 of the Seawolves' 52 kills, helping Sonoma State to bounce back into the win column with a 3-0 sweep of Cal State Dominguez Hills at the Torodome in Carson on Saturday afternoon. The Seawolves, ranked 17th in the nation and third in the west region, jumped to 8-5 in the California Collegiate Athletic Conference and 16-5 overall. The Toros fell to 1-20 overall (1-13 CCAA).
Peterson paced Sonoma State in the first set with seven kills but the Seawolves had to fight off a determined Cal State Dominguez Hills team, winning by a narrow score of 25-23. The Toros gave the Seawolves run for their money, closing the score to within one at 24-23 before Peterson put CSUDH away for the first set victory.
In the second set, Sonoma State wasted no time jumping out to an early 10-4 lead and the Seawolves never looked back, winning the set easily, 25-12. Then, in the third and final set, Sather went off for eight kills, breaking the freshman kills record, giving her 307 for the season.
Peterson and Sather had 17 kills each, as Sather hit at a .302 clip, backed by Peterson's .292 hitting percentage. Senior
Sarah Illingworth hammered in nine kills in just 12 attacks and one error (.667) and senior
Rikki Buckshnis added five. Senior

Christie Allen split time as Sonoma State's setter, passing out 18 and 15 assists, respectively. Sophomore
Taylor Krenwinkel had a game-high 16 digs for the Seawolves, who had 60 for the game. Sonoma State pounded out 52 kills and hit at a blistering .350 clip.
Cal State Dominguez Hills was held to 28 kills and a .175 hitting percentage with the help of Ashley Clark, who led the Toros with nine kills.
Sonoma State will travel to Humboldt State on Wednesday at 7 p.m. before returning home to The Wolves' Den on Friday to take on Cal State Monterey Bay.
