ROHNERT PARK, CALIF.- Sonoma State Women's Volleyball has come to an end but three Seawolves were named to the CCAA Honorable mention team. The trio of Peyton McBride, Brynna Slayton and Jackie Winfield each put together strong 2024 seasons that saw them named among the best the conference has to offer!
McBride was the premier offensive option for the Seawolves who led her team with 205 total kills and 14 service aces. McBride averaged 2.33 kills per set and saw action in 88 sets across the entire season. She was active on the defensive side of the net with 74 digs and 14 total blocks. Only a junior, McBride will be a key contributor for the Seawolves moving forward!
Alongside McBride, Jackie Winfield enjoyed a breakout season inside the Wolves Den. Winfield posted almost identical statistics to McBride as she had 194 kills in 76 sets and 15 service aces. Her 2.55 kills per set led all Seawolves and she was also active in terms of defending the net with 24 blocks.
The final Seawolf to earn Honorable Mention honors was the Seawolves starting setter, Brynna Slayton. Earlier this year Slayton broke the program record for career service aces and had a solid all-around year. Her 44 service aces were second in the entire CCAA. She had a total of 449 assists while averaging 5.28 per set. Slayton was also impactful on defense with 153 digs.
These three were key pieces in Sonoma's season and helped the Seawolves remain in the playoff hunt all season long. While Slayton and Winfield have finished their time with the Seawolves, McBride will be back to give the Seawolvs a veteran presence among their outside hitters for the 2025 season!
